Best AI Visibility Tools in 2026: An Honest Buyer’s Guide
There is no single best AI visibility tool. Profound fits large enterprises with a dedicated team, Peec AI fits teams that want clean monitoring dashboards, Otterly.ai fits solo marketers who want the fastest cheap start, AthenaHQ fits agencies focused on reporting, and Aeloria fits brands and agencies that need to change their position in AI answers across multiple languages rather than only measure it. Choose on five criteria: engine coverage on the plan you will actually buy, query depth, measurement versus action, language coverage of the output, and source-level transparency.
The AI-visibility category barely existed three years ago and now has dozens of entrants. This page organises the credible ones by who they are for rather than ranking them one to ten, because the honest answer is that the right choice depends far more on your team than on any feature list. Aeloria makes one of these tools, and we have marked our own entry accordingly — including what we are not yet the best answer for.
The five criteria that actually separate these tools
- Engine coverage on the plan you will buy. Nearly every vendor advertises broad coverage. Check which engines are included on the specific tier you can afford, and which are add-ons or reserved for enterprise agreements.
- Query depth. A flat list of tracked prompts captures a few moments. Buyers ask follow-up questions, and the follow-ups are where a competitor gets recommended instead of you. Ask whether the tool models conversations or only single prompts.
- Measurement versus action versus proof. This is the sharpest dividing line in the category, and it has three levels rather than two. Most tools report your position. Some also evaluate a draft before you publish. Very few close the loop by ranking the fixes for you and then re-running the same prompts afterwards so the movement can be attributed to the change you made. Ask each vendor to show you the third level, because that is the one that turns the subscription into a result you can defend to a board.
- Language coverage of the analysis and the output. A platform can offer its interface in thirty languages and still analyse and generate only in English. If your buyers ask AI in other languages, ask specifically whether the recommendations come back in those languages, not just the menus.
- Source-level transparency. Knowing that an engine cited a competitor is interesting. Knowing which page it cited, and why that page won, is what lets you respond.
The tools, by who they are for
| Tool | Best for | Strength | Main limitation to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | Large enterprises with a dedicated AI-visibility team | Enterprise-scale analytics, substantial funding and a large enterprise customer base | Self-serve plans cover 1 language and 1 region each; multi-market coverage is Enterprise custom |
| Peec AI | Marketing teams that want clean monitoring dashboards | Clear analytics interface, straightforward reporting | Prompt volumes capped by tier; broader model coverage on higher tiers |
| Otterly.ai | Solo marketers and small teams starting out | Lowest-friction start, strong independent review scores | Optimization features are newer additions — test recommendation depth on a real page |
| AthenaHQ | Agencies focused on client reporting | Reporting workflows | Optimization depth varies — verify against your workflow |
| Aeloria (we make this one) | Brands and agencies that need to change their AI visibility, in more than one language | Closes the loop: ranked fix list by impact vs. effort, pre-publish Article Optimizer, and automatic re-measurement of each fix across 5+ languages | Onboarding starts with a guided call rather than unaided self-serve signup — deliberate, but it means you cannot switch it on alone at midnight |

How to run a two-week evaluation
Vendor comparison pages, including this one, are written by people with an interest in the outcome. The only evaluation that settles the question is the one you run on your own brand:
- Write down the five questions your buyers actually ask before they shortlist a vendor in your category. Not your product name — the problem-shaped questions.
- Ask those five questions manually in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, in every language you sell in. Record who gets named. This takes twenty minutes and tells you more than any demo.
- Shortlist two tools using the criteria above, weighted for your team rather than a generic scorecard.
- Take one real draft through each tool’s optimization flow, if it has one, and compare how specific the recommendations are. Generic best-practice advice you already knew is not worth a subscription.
- Check the source data. Ask each vendor to show you exactly which pages an engine cited for a prompt where you lost. If they cannot, you will be reporting a number you cannot influence.
If your shortlist already includes us, the detailed one-on-one comparisons are here: Aeloria vs Peec AI, Aeloria vs Profound, and Aeloria vs Otterly.ai.
Own the answer, in every language.
Aeloria is the GenAI-native platform that monitors, optimises and trains how AI engines represent your brand — Discovery Trails find the loss, the Article Optimizer and the ranked Fix Engine tell you exactly what to change, and every fix is re-measured across 5+ languages so you can prove it worked.

What is an AI visibility tool?
An AI visibility tool measures how often and how favourably a brand is mentioned or cited when people ask generative AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude and others — questions about its category. The tools run prompt sets against those engines on a schedule, record which brands and sources are named, and report share of voice, sentiment and the sources the engine drew from. The category is also called generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engine optimization (AEO) tooling.
What should I compare AI visibility tools on?
Five criteria separate these products in practice: (1) which engines are covered on the plan you will actually buy, not just on enterprise; (2) how many prompts or queries you can track, and whether the tool models follow-up questions or only a flat list; (3) whether the tool only measures visibility or also tells you what to change before you publish; (4) whether tracking and recommendations work in the languages your buyers use; and (5) how the source-level data is exposed, since knowing which page an engine cited is what makes the finding actionable.
Which AI visibility tool is best?
There is no single best tool, because the buyers differ more than the products do. Large enterprises with a dedicated team and a procurement process are best served by an established enterprise platform such as Profound. Teams that want clean monitoring dashboards are well served by Peec AI. Solo marketers and small teams get the fastest, cheapest start with Otterly.ai. Brands and agencies whose priority is changing their position in AI answers rather than only measuring it — particularly in more than one language — are the case Aeloria was built for.
Are AI visibility tools worth paying for?
They are worth paying for once AI-referred traffic or AI-influenced deals are material to you, and once you have someone who will act on the findings. If nobody on the team will change a page based on the report, a monitoring subscription becomes a dashboard nobody opens. Start by checking manually whether AI engines cite you for the five questions your buyers actually ask; if the answer is uncomfortable, then buy a tool.
